Our Story

With decades of working in the Bay of Plenty, we have witnessed the landscape of Tauranga Moana and Mount Maunganui transform. Our first contribution was to the residential building and retirement sector, providing our clients with the very best in stone and tile installation. As these sectors grew, maintenance, restoration, and repair became a very important part of our scope of work. Stone Lab was established to focus all knowledge and effort on the protection and restoration of natural stone, concrete cladding, brick, and tile.

As a proud Māori-owned business, we're dedicated to sustainable and eco-friendly practices that honour our heritage and preserve our taiao (environment). We combine traditional knowledge and techniques with cutting-edge chemical science and the mastery of Italian stone artisans to deliver exceptional results.

The stone artisan leading Stone Lab: Leif Nahi

Leif Nahi, the founder and owner of Stone Lab, is a highly Qualified Stone and Tile Technician with over 29 years of experience in the industry. He holds qualifications from the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) and the Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation (BCITO).

Leif's extensive knowledge is further enhanced by drawing from a close network of stone artisan's from around the world. Leif's commitment to excellence ensures that Stone Lab remains at the forefront of stone treatment and restoration.
